Prohgres- ‘Guard Up’

Prohgres is taking no days off, dropping a big tune on his birthday with ‘Guard Up’.

‘Guard Up’ reflects the harsh realities of ghetto life in Jamaica and the dangers that are around every corner.

Prohgres reflects on the friends he has lost to violence in the ghetto, and how he often doesn’t want to go out on the roads due to the threat of violence. But he knows he has to in order to make money and provide for his family. This is when the title of the track comes in, as Prohgres feels like he has to ‘Guard Up’ by carrying a weapon in order to protect his own life, saying on the track “bible alone can’t bl******t guard me, so mi haffi have a ting pon mi”.
